Matthew Matt James, born on December 5, 1991, from North Carolina. James is the child of Manny and Patty James and is of mixed race. He has the Nigerian father as well as a Caucasian mother. After graduating from Sanderson High School, in 2010 he enrolled at Wake Forest University and obtained the Bachelor's degree in Economics. James gained fame after he appeared on screen for his debut on the reality TV star during The Bachelorette. He was selected in 2020 to play the bachelor for season 25 of The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The show premiered 2021. James was a perfect fit for the role as he is handsome well-rounded tall and has a sense of comedy. Rachael Krukconnell turned into his love interest at the end of season. In 2021, he joined forces with the famous dancer Arnold to compete in season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James and Arnold placed 12th on the show.
